Kris Kringle The Musical is a brand-new, wholly original Christmas musical that introduces young Kris Kringle, a chaotic, jobless toymaker in New York City who has discovered in the stars a toy that he promises to make in memory of his grandma. The story of Kris’s journey to make that toy is told with laughter, love, and even tears as he becomes a dancing star, and, in the process, finds and heals his broken family.
Kris Kringle (Storybook Edition) made its New York debut at The Town Hall in November 2017 and was originally narrated by the Tony Award® nominee, Cathy Rigby. The Cast for the Town Hall production also included Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Newsies) as Kris Kringle; Kim Crosby (Into the Woods) as Mrs. Claus; and Pamela Myers (Company) as Grandma Kringle.
Kris Kringle has a magnificent score and memorable songs (“Unwrap the Christmas Magic,” “My North Star,” “Santa’s Rulebook,” “Something Wonderful In You,” and “Green Suede Shoes”) destined to become holiday classics. In February 2018, a Studio Cast Recording of Kris Kringle was released, starring Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Nikki Renée Daniels (Porgy and Bess; The Book of Mormon), with Janine La Manna (Seussical); Kim Crosby; Mary Stout (Beauty and the Beast).
Andrew Keenan-Bolger has called “Kris Kringle … a holiday musical for a new generation — a gorgeous score paired with a heartwarming tale of family and forgiveness.” During the 2019 holiday season at Proctors, Kris Kringle will further attest that it is indeed a holiday musical for a new generation by the use for the first time of projections to heighten the Storybook experience.
